Annual Gripe Day:
Get it off your chest…Tell us what you like and don't like about the town. Held at either the Town Hall or the Court House. Open to ANYONE. Be respectful and don’t get personal or insulting. Humor appreciated. Don’t expect any action, but at least you’ll be keeping the politicians real.
Street Fest:
Remember the Spring Festival during the 1970’s in Varsity Gym? This would be similar, but instead we would block off either Hardin Street or King Street (sort of like the Kraut Creek Festival, but on a larger scale). This event would be open to EVERYONE--including students. It could even be held after a football game to attract even more people. Local businesses and craftspeople as well as ASU organizations could set up booths to introduce themselves to the community. The event could possibly be used as a fund raiser for community projects such as the Greenway Trail. A 5K race could start the fest off. Feature a band for entertainment. Food could be served on bread bowls and deposits could be charged on silverware to promote zero waste. What do you think?
